Differentiating Images from Photos

Astute observers will wonder why the site has both Images and Photos in the mix. The short answer is that they are two different types of nodes (or posts) with different funtionality. Images came first; then the Photos were implemented. For the most part, at this time, the Images are from a mobile (handy, cell phone, smart phone) while the Photos were taken on a digital camera of higher quality than the mobile.

The longer reason for the difference is that I implemented the Images type when I couldn't get the Photos type to work properly because the latter took some heavy lifting. After learning more about the system and using a helpful guide on using Photos, I managed to make the Photos work for me. For the most part.

The one piece still missing from Photos is the ability to email pictures from my mobile straight to the site. This is possible with Images; I've not found the functionality or the skills to turn it on in Photos. So for now, and this may change at some point, the greatest difference between Images and Photos is in the camera capturing the picture.

There you have it.
